I am the CEO/Founder of Nourish Balance Thrive, an online-based company using advanced biochemical testing together with diet and lifestyle coaching to reverse chronic disease, as well as optimize performance in athletes.
I’m a computer scientist and elite/professional mountain biker who re-trained in biochemistry, health coaching and advanced lab interpretation. I have been invited to speak on many podcasts about my bad experience solving my own chronic health complaints, resulting in quitting my job to start NBT. I have rapidly become the go-to person for advice when it comes to applying in-depth testing and lifestyle changes in elite and masters athletes to keep them performing at a high level for as long as possible. This includes two appearances on Robb Wolf's Paleo Solution podcast and three appearances on the Ben Greenfield show. In Robb Wolf's new book, NBT is also listed as a recommended resource for athletes looking to work with functional medicine practitioners.
Over 1,000 athletes have been through the NBT program, from weekend warriors to Olympians and world champions, with hundreds of performance biomarkers available for each client. As well as supporting athletic performance, the team has amassed significant experience with chronic diseases such as autoimmune conditions and cognitive decline. Based on their accumulated data, the team are using machine learning algorithms to rapidly and reliably predict common problems in athletes including low hemoglobin, low sex hormones, and gut dysbioses. The goal is to both reduce the cost to the client and automate certain elements of the process, which will decrease the barrier to entry and allow a greater number of people to participate in their own preventative healthcare.
