Sue graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital in 1995 and spent some time in hospital medicine until qualifying as a GP in 2001. During this time she developed a keen interest in lifestyle as a risk factor for many chronic diseases and this led her to complete an MSc in Nutritional Medicine from the University of Surrey. She works as a GP mainly in Merthyr Tydfil which has some of the highest prevalence of chronic disease in the UK, and also has an interest in weight management. She is SCOPE certified, a member of the GPs with an Interest in Nutrition Group, and does some work with the Welsh Obesity Society and the Association for the Study of Obesity alongside tutoring students completing an obesity course via the University of South Wales.
